タイ・バンコクに拠点を置くアートギャラリー 「CURU GALLERY」は、国内外で大きな注目を集めている日本拠点の画家、友沢こたお (Kotao Tomozawa) の東南アジア初となる新作個展 「Too Much Heaven」を開催いたします。

タイおよび東南アジアにおける彼女の初個展となる本展 「Too Much Heaven」では、今回のために制作された新作絵画を展示いたします。

スライム状の物質に覆われた人物像で広く知られる友沢は、その独自の絵画表現を通して、生の感覚や身体の存在を探求してきました。本展では、近年の制作の深化を示す最新作を発表します。

また本展にあわせて、友沢はバンコクに滞在し、大型作品の制作に取り組みます。現地で完成する作品も、本展の見どころのひとつとなります。

タイでの初個展、そして現地での制作を含む本展は、友沢こたおの歩みにおける新たな節目となる展覧会です。

About Kotao Tomozawa

KOTAO is a contemporary painter who was raised between France and Japan. Born in Bordeaux, France, in 1999, she relocated to Japan in 2004 and studied Oil Painting at the Tokyo University of the Arts, one of the country’s most prestigious art institutions. Her work is distinctively characterised by portraits enveloped in slime-like materials and organic textures, creating a visual language that is unconventional, sensitive, mysterious, and powerful.
